Manajemen strategi merupakan ilmu yang menggabungkan fungsi-fungsi manajemen dalam rangka pembuatan keputusan-keputusan organisasi secara strategis, guna mencapai tujuan organisasi secara efektif dan efisien, Itulah sebabnya definisi manajemen strategi berkembang luas tergantung pemahaman ataupun penafsiran seseorang. Di dalam dunia usaha, tantangan terberat bagi seorang usahawan adalah bagaimana ia dapat membawa usaha yang dirintisnya itu menjadi sebuah usaha besar, Dalam dunia pendidikan pun terjadi persaingan yaitu untuk mendapatkan objek pendidikan (siswa/ mahasiswa) sebanyak-banyaknya. Persaingan dalam memperebutkan objek pendidikan, sangat erat kaitannya dengan kecekatan seorang yang terjun dalam bidang pendidikan harus mengenal selera pasar Masyarakat serta pemilihan pasar usaha yang tepat. Agar objek pendidikan loyal, maka harus mempunyai strategi.
