Abstract

The research that discusses the influence of the snowball-throwing method on students' speaking skills is motivated by students' difficulties in mentioning vocabulary in Arabic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the snowball throwing method on maharah kalam students in grade 8 MTs Darul Irfan Serang. The type of research used in this study is quasi-experimental with pre-test-post test nonequivalent control group design using control class and experimental class. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The data collection technique used is a test to determine students' speaking skills and documentation. The results showed that the average test of students' speaking skills in the dick class was 63.7 and in the experimental class was 68.5. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on the t-test with a significance level of α = 5%, t-count = 2.940 is obtained. The value of t table = 2.086 so t count > t table which means H0 is rejected. Thus, statistically, there was a significant improvement in students' speaking skills in the experimental class. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is an influence on the use of snowball-throwing learning methods on students' speaking skills.
