The purpose of this study was to find the effect of implementing the flipped classroom strategy on student’s independent learning abilities in arabic lesson at MTs Al-Ma'arif Rancalutung Serang. The research method used by researchers is a quasi-experimental method, with a total sample of 40 people divided into experimental class and control class. The instruments used were a questionnaire with 20 items, interview, observation, test, dan documentation. The effect of implementing this strategy can be seen after testing the hypothesis using the paired sample t test. And the results showed that there was an average increase in each class, from 54,40 to 67,15 in the experimental class and from 54,75 to 63,75 in the control class. The results of the N gain score test obtained an average of 0,53 in the experimental class and 0,36 in the control class. And based on the results of the calculation of the paired sample t test, a sig (2-tailed) value is obtained with a value of 0,00 < 0,05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. With the conclusion that there is an effect of implementing the flipped classroom strategy on the ability to learn independently in arabic lesson.
