Abstract

This thesis discusses the use of contextual teaching and learning models to improve students' speaking skills. This research was motivated by the low scores of students who did not meet the 65% KKM. Contextual learning is an educational concept that helps teachers relate the material they like to real-world situations and encourages students to make connections between the knowledge they have and apply it in everyday life. Learning in context is not just about memorizing, taking notes, and listening, but learning in a meaningful and enjoyable experiential process. This research is a class action research. This study aims to apply a contextual learning approach, in learning Arabic in class VIII Madrasah Al-Hidayah Ciomas Serang. data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. In data analysis, the writer uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/data validation. The results of the study show that the application of contextual learning methods to improve the speaking skills of class VIII students at Al-Hidayah school starts from the planning, implementation and evaluation stages of learning according to the components: constructivism, discovery, questioning, learning community, modelling, thinking, and evaluation with assessment actual/actual and implementation Planning methods, pre-session work, first and second sessions, observation and reflection.
