Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using card sort strategies in improving reading skills learning in grade VIII MTsN 2 Lebak students. Researchers use quantitative methods in Quasi-Experimental theory in the form of Nonequalivalent control group design with data collection techniques using Observation, Interview, Test, and Documentation. Researchers used a sample of 43 students. The results of data processing can be seen from the average results of the experimental class post-test using the Card Sort strategy obtained 68.81 and the average results of the control class post-test not using the Card Sort strategy obtained 54.52 This shows that there is an increase in the average results using the Card Sort strategy. And based on the final results using a linear regression test, the value of siginifikasni (sig) obtained 0.000<0.05 can be concluded if the significance value is smaller than <0.05 then (H1) is accepted and (Ho) is rejected, then there is an influence of using the Card Sort strategy in improving maharah qira'ah learning in class VIII MTsN 2 Lebak.
