THE CONCEPT OF PARENTING PATTERNS FROM AN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE ON EARLY CHILDHOOD GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT AT RA AL-ISHLAH

Abstract

This research aims to obtain a description of the concept of parenting patterns from an Islamic perspective on child growth and development as well as supporting and inhibiting factors for parents in applying the concept of parenting patterns from an Islamic perspective. The method the author uses in this research is a descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research were parents (guardians) and students at RA Al-Ishlah. Data was analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that: 1) The concept of parenting according to Islam is the attitude and treatment of parents towards young children in caring for, educating, developing, familiarizing and guiding children optimally based on the Al-Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. 2) The concept of parenting styles in children’s growth and development, parents have an obligation to create a conducive environment so that they can maximize children’s growth and development. 3) Supporting and inhibiting factors for parents in the concept of parenting according to Islamic teachings, namely an environment that supports each other and an environment that has a bad influence on children. The research results show that the parties involved in the concept of parenting patterns in Islamic teaching are very important.
