Peace Education and Religious Moderation: the Baduy Community’s Response to Tourist Visitors

Abstrak

This study examines the response of the Baduy Tribe community to the arrival of tourists in Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar, focusing on the integration of peace education and religious moderation in maintaining intercultural harmony. Qualitative methodology is employed to understand the dynamics of social and cultural interaction deeply. The research findings indicate variations in the attitudes of the Baduy Tribe community towards tourists, ranging from openness to skepticism, influenced by traditional values and the impact of globalization. Peace education and religious moderation play a crucial role in shaping the positive response of the community, promoting openness, mutual respect, and maintaining intercultural harmony. Community leaders act as mediators in managing conflicts and facilitating intercultural dialogue. The integration of peace education and religious moderation forms a solid foundation for building harmonious relationships between the Baduy Tribe community and tourists, strengthening social bonds in Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar. This study highlights the importance of education as a tool for strengthening intercultural relations and building socially and culturally sustainable communities.
