Similarity and Generative AI Policy

To uphold academic integrity and ensure the originality of all published manuscripts, Tarbawi: Jurnal Keilmuan Manajemen Pendidikan applies the following editorial policies.
 
Similarity Policy
All submitted manuscripts will undergo similarity screening using Turnitin before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts must comply with the following requirements:
  • The overall Similarity Index must not exceed 15%.
  • Similarity from any single source must not exceed 15%, except for quotations from official regulations, legal documents, or other sources that reasonably require identical wording.
  • The Similarity Index is evaluated after excluding bibliography, quoted materials, and small matches, using the journal's standard Turnitin settings.
  • Manuscripts exceeding the permitted similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the discretion of the Editor.
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
The journal recognizes that Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies may help authors improve the readability of their manuscripts. However, AI must not replace the authors' intellectual contributions. Authors may use Generative AI only for:
  • language editing;
  • grammar checking;
  • proofreading;
  • translation; and
  • improving readability without altering the scientific meaning.

Authors are not permitted to use Generative AI to generate or substantially develop:

  • research ideas;
  • research questions or hypotheses;
  • literature reviews;
  • research methodology;
  • data analysis;
  • interpretation of findings;
  • discussion;
  • conclusions;
  • references or citations; or
  • any scientific content presented as the authors' original scholarly work.

Where Generative AI has been used for permitted purposes, authors must disclose its use in the manuscript under the Declaration or Acknowledgments section. The journal may request authors to submit:

  1. a complete Turnitin Similarity Report; and
  2. An AI Detection Report
at any stage of the editorial process. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in editorial rejection or withdrawal of the manuscript from further consideration.
