Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan tindakan peningkatan mutu pendidikan dalam meningkatkan daya saing sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap kepala sekolah, wakil kepala kurikulum, dan wakil kepala humas, serta sejumlah staf pengajar terpilih di SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang. Selanjutnya untuk menganalisis digunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan menggunakan metode wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Proses perencanaan mutu pendidikan dalam meningkatkan daya saing sekolah dilakukan beberapa langkah yang diperhatikan. (2) Proses penerapan mutu pendidikan dalam meningkatkan daya saing sekolah di SMAN 5 Kota Serang, yaitu menerapkan berbagai sasaran yang telah ditetapkan dalam perencanaan. (3) Evaluasi mutu pendidikan dilaksanakan melalui tahapan: 1) evaluasi kurikulum, 2) evaluasi sumber daya manusia, 3) evaluasi rutin melalui pemantauan bulanan atau evaluasi tahunan. (4) Tindakan peningkatan mutu pendidikan dilakukan melalui penyelenggaraan pelatihan in-house training dan peningkatan informasi sekolah. (5) Sekolah belum mampu mengelola secara optimal daya saing sekolah, serta fasilitas yang belum dijalankan secara maksimal. (6) Hubungan internal warga sekolah dengan pimpinan sekolah kurang ideal, masih kurangnya kekuatan kepemimpinan.
