Strategic Planning for Education Quality Improvement Based on SWOT Analysis: A Case Study

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis kondisi lingkungan internal dan eksternal SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Sambi Boyolali dengan menggunakan analisis SWOT; dan (2) menyusun perencanaan strategis untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Sambi Boyolali berdasarkan analisis SWOT. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif untuk memperoleh gambaran yang mendalam tentang objek penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Teknik analisis data dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis internal SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Sambi Boyolali lebih banyak memiliki kelebihan dibandingkan dengan kelemahan. Sedangkan analisis eksternal terdapat lebih banyak peluang daripada ancaman. Banyaknya keunggulan dan peluang menunjukkan bahwa SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Sambi Boyolali memiliki potensi untuk mengembangkan mutu sekolah yang jelas dan terukur. Perencanaan strategis yang dapat dilakukan berdasarkan analisis SO-WO-ST-WT adalah mengembangkan lingkungan sekolah menuju masyarakat belajar yang ideal, melakukan pelatihan dan pembinaan sumber daya manusia, membentuk klub prestasi, meningkatkan kualitas layanan sekolah, membentuk tim evaluasi kegiatan sekolah, memanfaatkan dana secara efektif dan efisien, menjalin sharing sumber daya, dan membangun branding sekolah. Kontribusi penelitian ini secara teoritis dapat menambah wawasan keilmuan dalam manajemen pendidikan Islam, dan secara praktis dapat menjadi masukan yang bermanfaat untuk mengetahui posisi sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan.
