Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a new curriculum implemented in the education world today. In the context of Madrasah education, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum commenced in the academic year 2023-2024 within the KKMI (Madrasah Implementers Coordination Forum) of Pekalongan City. The Pancasila student profile represents the character of students that must be shaped and realized within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Learning that caters to the individual learning needs of students, in line with their learning style profiles, is a hallmark of the Merdeka Curriculum. In the ideal learning process, educators are required to conduct diagnostic assessments of their students to understand and map each child's cognitive abilities. This practice significantly influences the execution of differentiated instruction in the classroom. This research aims to analyze the implementation of diagnostic assessments in differentiated learning at MSI 17 Pabean, Pekalongan City. This qualitative research utilizes observation, documentation, and interviews as data collection techniques. The research findings indicate that diagnostic assessments for differentiated learning at MSI 17 Pabean, Pekalongan City, have been effectively implemented. Diagnostic tests, pre-learning tests specifically related to mapping learning styles, interests, and prior knowledge of students, enable teachers to carry out differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs. The optimization of diagnostic assessments contributes to enhancing the quality of thematic learning to better meet the students' needs and efficiently utilize class time
