Author Guidelines

A. Guidelines for Manuscript Submission

  1. Articles submitted to Ibtida'i: Jurnal Kependidikan Dasar must be original research papers or review articles within the scope of elementary education.
  2. Title should be a maximum of 15 words, concise, clear, and informative. Use Times New Roman, font size 12, single-spaced, with 6 pt spacing after paragraph.
  3. Author's full name (without academic title) is placed below the title. If there are multiple authors, use separate lines.
  4. Affiliations should state the department, faculty, and university, e.g., Department of Elementary Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten, Indonesia.
  5. Email should be valid and placed under the institutional affiliation.
  6. Abstract is written in both Indonesian and English, containing research objectives, methods, and primary results. Length is 150–200 words, single-spaced, with narrower margins.
  7. Keywords: 3–6 words or phrases.
  8. Article structure includes: Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
  9. Introduction must highlight: research urgency, gap analysis, background literature, novelty, and objectives (without subtitles).
  10. Methods should describe research design, population, sample, instruments, data collection and analysis techniques in paragraph form.
  11. Results and Discussion should include field findings, supported by tables, graphs, or figures. Data should not be duplicated in multiple formats. Use sequential numbering and center alignment for tables/images. Qualitative studies may present findings by themes/subcategories.
  12. Discussion must:
    • Answer research questions
    • Interpret findings
    • Connect with existing theories/literature
    • Present implications and potential theoretical contributions
  13. Conclusion should be narrative, conceptual, and avoid numerical lists or symbols.

B. Guidelines for Citation and References

  1. Citations must refer to primary sources (articles in reputable journals).
  2. Use reference manager tools: Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, etc.
  3. Apply the APA citation style (American Psychological Association), with in-text citations and a reference list.
  4. Minimum 30 references, with 80% from reputable journals (SCOPUS, Web of Science, or SINTA).
  5. References should be from the last 10 years.
  6. Avoid citing Wikipedia, personal blogs, or non-scientific websites.

D. Language Editing and Style

  • Started from Volume 13, all manuscripts should be in American or British English (consistently).
  • Authors are encouraged to proofread or seek language editing.
  • The journal accepts manuscripts with a total word count between 5000 and 12000 words.

E. Ethics, Plagiarism, and Disclosure

  • The journal follows COPE Guidelines.
  • Plagiarism checking is required (Turnitin, Grammarly, Plagiarisma).
  • Plagiarism exceed 20% is not accepted.
  • Include sections on:
    • Acknowledgment
    • Declaration of Conflicting Interests
    • Funding
    • ORCID ID
