Plagiarism Policy

Ibtida'i: Jurnal Kependidikan Dasar is a peer-reviewed academic journal, published twice a year, both in print and online. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including the author(s), the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher (Department of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten). The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Plagiarism Check and Originality Policy

Manuscripts submitted to Ibtida'i must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Each submission must be accompanied by a plagiarism check report, demonstrating that at least 80% of the manuscript is original, as verified by recognized plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin, Plagiarisma, or Grammarly.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves the use of another person's ideas, words, data, or work without proper acknowledgment. Whether intentional or unintentional, plagiarism constitutes a serious violation of academic ethics and will not be tolerated.

Authors must:

  • Provide proper citation when referring to specific information (e.g., names, dates, places, statistics) from a particular source.

  • Cite all ideas taken from other works, even if the idea has been further developed.

  • Use quotation marks and citations for direct phrases of four or more consecutive words taken from another source.

  • Avoid paraphrasing without proper citation, as this also constitutes a form of plagiarism.

General knowledge—facts that are widely known and can be found in multiple sources—does not require citation (e.g., "Indonesia is the most populous Muslim-majority country").

Editorial Right and Consequences

The editorial board of Ibtida'i reserves the right to:

  • Reject or withdraw a manuscript found to violate any of the ethical standards outlined above.

  • Notify the authors in case of serious academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, or duplicate publication.
