Kemampuan membaca lancar siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa
Indonesia masih rendah di II MI Manbaul Hikmat Desa Padasuka Kec.
Petir. Hal ini disebabkan kurangnya minat dan motivasi siswa dalam
membaca, dan guru pun belum memanfaatkan media dalam
pembelajaran. sehingga mengakibatkan kemampaun membacanya masih
rendah. Siswa kelas II MI Manbaul Hikmat Desa Padasuka Kec. Petir
dengan menggunakan media Big Book. Metode penelitian yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang
dilaksanakan dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan
media Big Book dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca lancar siswa
kelas II MI Manbaul Hikmat dari segi aktivitas siswa dalam proses
pembelajaran maupun hasil siswa mengenai kemampuan membaca lancar
siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari persentase pada siklus I, ketuntasan
aktivitas siswa sebesar 67%, aktivitas guru 80%, dan hasil siswa mengenai
kemampuan membaca lancar 50%. Kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II ketuntasan aktivitas siswa sebesar 80%, aktivitas guru
sebesar 80,35% dan hasil siswa mengenai kemampuan membaca lancar
75%.
