Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya guru dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran dan motivasi siswa terhadap pembelajaran IPA
masih sangat rendah. Hal tersebut menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan media gambar IPA pokok bahasan penggolongan makhluk hidup di kelas III dengan menggunakan media gambar. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil belajar siswa siklus I dan II. Hasil belajar siswa meningkat dengan menggunakan media gambar dalam pembelajaran IPA dilihat dari persentase siklus I ketuntasan belajar siswa mencapai 58% dan siswa yang belum tuntas belajar sekitar 42% dengan nilai rata-rata perolehan 59. Sedangkan pada siklus II ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mencapai 85% dan siswa yang belum tuntas belajar sekitar 15% dengan nilai rata-rata perolehan 76.
