UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA PADA KOMPETENSI DASAR PEMECAHAN MASALAH PADA PECAHAN MELALUI PENDEKATAN REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

Rendahnya minat dan ketertarikan siswa dalam memahami materi menyelesaikan masalah pada pecahan disebabkan karena siswa menganggap bahwa mata pelajaran matematika adalah mata pelajaran yang sulit dan sukar untuk dipahami sehingga menjadikan siswa malas dan berimbas pada hasil belajar yang rendah. Penyebab dari permasalahan di atas dikarenakan guru yang tidak mampu memilih strategi, pendekatan, model, atau pun metode pembelajaran yang baik terhadap materi yang diajarkan, sehingga siswa kurang memahami materi yang diajarkan oleh guru. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata pada setiap siklusnya, pada pra siklus nilai rata-ratanya sebesar 37,64, pada siklus I nilai rata-rata mencapai 44,03, serta pada siklus II nilai rata-ratanya mencapai 68,93. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan meng-gunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dan hasil belajar siswa.
