Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media gambar realita pada pembelajaran IPS pokok materi kenampakan alam dan buatan serta untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan R n D yang mengacu pada empat tahapan dari model 4 D Thiagarajan, yaitu Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Sumber datanya adalah validasi media pembelajaran gambar realita, ini berpedoman pada tiga aspek yaitu 1 aspek kualitas dan tujuan, aspek instruksional dan 3 aspek teknis, yang pada oprasionalnya dilakukan oleh tim ahli yaitu ahli media dan materi serta guru kelas III. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata perolehan dari keseluruhan hasil validasi adalah 4,46 dari rentang 1 sampai 5 dan termasuk kategori baik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dapat dinyatakan bahwa media gambar realita pada pokok materi kenampakan alam dan buatan layak digunakan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran.
